Hello, it’s been three months of silence! I sincerely miss documenting my outfits, and now that I don’t have classes and while I’m back here in the province for a short vacay, I’m grabbing all of the opportunity to make up for my loss in this blog.

I noticed how my style has drastically evolved for the past 2 months! Lately I find myself dressing minimally (lesser prints, sometimes a Tshirt and short combo is enough), wanting to dress up like a boy (wearing caps and beanies), choosing comfy sneakers over heels.

Meet Melo. Fashion and Fun brought us together. I consider him as one of my guy best friends, though I think it’s a one-sided relationship. Lol jk. He constantly reminds me not to care or not to be too conscious about people most especially when they give us their weird stares. At the end of the day, we just tell each other that “we’re too overdressed for our town” haha

One of my many classic fashion icons is THE Blair Waldorf. Apart from loving Leighton Meester herself (!!!!), I am so engrossed with Blair’s extremely sophisticated and lady-like outfits. Always ready to surmount the world with her blazers, ribbon headbands, dresses, capes and of course, her vivid stockings. Blair Waldorf is someone I cannot outgrow! Back in high school, I hoarded ribbon headbands in different shades and always wore them to school, curled my hair for no apparent reason because I envied her hair, bought colored stockings because she wore them a lot and even copied the style of one of her gowns for my senior prom! Haha Up to now, I still admire her with all my heart, I wish Gossip Girl never ended so soon!

I didn’t have an inspiration initially when I tried this outfit on. But when I glanced at the mirror, that’s the only time I realized that I was channeling my inner Blair Waldorf. Hence, I added the headband to suffice the Blair Waldorf look. Heehee.

Oftentimes people would ask me, “What is your style?” Truth is, I don’t know how to put it together, but I think the closest I can come up with is spontaneous. I don’t adhere to any rules in fashion, I don’t stick to a single style, I wear what I think looks perfectly together and what makes me feel good about myself.

Girls and boys are usually daunted to don outfits because they have immensely low self-esteem. We’ve all been in that long and awkward path in our lives. It’s just a matter of learning to love yourself and being surrounded with positive people who have faith in you.

Don’t be discouraged, never listen to what others tell you, experiment, wear what makes you happy, conquer your fashion fears.

Last Sunday, my food buddies and I went to try the newly opened and most coveted American restaurant in town, IHOP. I was anticipating for a loooong queue, but were extremely taken aback when we learned that we were the 173rd on the line and the people who were about to be seated was 75th! The girl informed us that we’d have to wait for 2-3 hours. We did not want to disappoint ourselves and swore we’d push through despite the lengthy line. Along with our famished selves (no food ingested for that day yet), we headed to 2nd’s to somewhat fulfill our hunger and ordered for appetizers. Despite the fact that it was only an “appetizer”, we already felt satiated. After 2nd’s, we went back immediately to IHOP to check our spot. Thank goodness, it was already down on its 168th. After what felt like 2-3 minutes, the girl called Fhia’s name, then we were already seated. Ahhh, it was one of the most rewarding feelings ever. Lol.

This burgundy velvet skater skirt from It’s All About Hue makes it debut in my blog. It’s so lovely, and the color is just so classy. Another closet staple here. Can be worn in the morning with a loose top and sneakers, and can be worn during the night with a sequined black top and heels! Ahhh. I want to collect them in all colors! This will be overused for sure.

Hi I’m still in the adjusting phase of this entire Tumblr Create New post thing. It’s so tricky for me. Editing the image size and preview can’t be done anymore (Or can it?) Please enlighten me!

My Valentines 2013 outfit! Lol. I always make it a point to wear red every Vday and indulge in a luxurious dinner with girlfriends. This time of the year, Fhia, Tovy and I went to A Taste of L.A. for dinner. Their food and ambiance were superb, except maybe the fact that we were seated beside couples (all of the people beside us were lovers!) being sweet along with their heavy bouquet of flowers while savoring their food and acting as if they’re the only people in that place. Oh don’t get me wrong though, I loved being surrounded with couples. But deep inside it just makes me long for Edi even more because he’s so far and Vdays are usually not spent with him. Awww.

Yay, finally a new post! I’m not completely neglecting this blog, though. I enjoy every bit of sharing and documenting my outfits and all so I’m still keeping this despite the huge lack of new posts.

What I wore on a Saturday night dinner with Fhia. Whoo, it was another one hell of a week for us (what’s new!) Anyhoo, this is just another one of my lengthy list of no-brainer, lazy, comfortable and spontaneous outfits. There’s nothing wrong with it, right? I will always be partial to comfort dressing. This brown-red jeans right here was out of the ordinary. The fabric was soft and thin, so I can easily move around with it!

There’s no greater feeling than spending time with good old friends whom you haven’t seen in a long while. Last December (hell yes this is a backlog), I met up with three of my high school loves: Roma, Jane and Jovelle. Every moment spent with them is priceless, and always filled with laughter and lengthy conversations about our current life (the four of us are in a long distance relationship, mind you. Roma and Jane resides in Baguio for college while Jovelle is now living in Hawaii for good, though she went home here to spend Christmas with her family), news about the people we know, and anything under the sun.

We hit the road in the late afternoon and ended up in this secluded restaurant named Stone House Cafe, which is quite far from the city proper. It’s different in here. Privacy was given, and there were only 5 customers when we went, including the 3 of us.

Jane and Jovelle. If my memory serves me right, the last time I’ve seen these two was April 1, 2012 during Jovelle’s send-off party.

Ahhh I’m missing them already as I type this.

I rarely go to weddings, because I had this notion back then that major events like these were intended for middle-aged people and not for me (hahaha) but now that I’m all grown up, I’ve learned to appreciate how beguiling weddings are. I attended Edi’s sister’s wedding and their baby’s christening last Janaury 5. Everything in their wedding was absolutely wonderful. It gave me this odd feeling like hearts and love and butterflies were in the air. Ahhh, it’s just indescribable. Hahah

I admit I didn’t comply with their motif which was light blue, so I guess the safest color to use would be shades of nude. I played with textures in my dress. It looked extravagant (profusely or exaggeratedly decorated, decorative) because it’s texture was similar to fur, but it’s not. I only wore a few accessories like my earrings and bangle since the dress itself is already attention-grabbing.

First off, I’d like to greet everyone a merry Christmas! It’s kind of way behind but it’s still the 25th, right? I hope everyone’s taking pleasure in their holidays!!

Feeling festive with the combination of sequins and complicated tribal prints. I was meant to wear a gray sweater that night (courtesy of Melo haha) but I just thought it didn’t look good together. :( Sometimes I stick to black or white items just because they are easier to match up with my other clothes. We share similar sentiments here, don’t we?

Here’s what I wore when Fhia and I went to MOA clearly for some retail therapy. It has been an intensely busy week for all of us (duty at the mental hospital, exams, meeting thesis deadlines!), and what else can be a stress-reliever than to shop. Meheheh. It’s my first time to check out their branch in MOA and correct me if I’m wrong but I think F21 Mega still has the widest branch among all of the other branches. But I’ve nothing against MOA because they have a really nice collection, as usual I was overwhelmed the whole time. Haha.

Anyway, here comes my most favorite buttondown again! Lol. I never never get tired of wearing it. I need more of these in my life. I can’t find something that can surpass this, WHY OH WHY :( I think my fondness for buttondown tops will linger for a while.

December wear

Hello, there! I can’t believe my much-awaited time of the year is here again! Christmas is just 23 days away, I am savouring every moment because we can finally get to experience the typical December breeze, which means, we can finally take our sweaters and long cardigans out for a spin! Ahhh, I’ve waited this for so long! You know how hot it is every single day in Manila. So it’s such a breather that it’s starting to get cold again. I would prefer having winter though, so we could appreciate layering and wearing thick sweaters even more.

Because it’s starting to get cold in the metro, my instant remedy for this would be my much-loved sheer but long cardigan that I haven’t used for months now. Although the fabric was sheer and not enough to guard me from the cold, at least it’s still long enough to cover my freezing legs. Haha. And because I went to the mall last night, of course I had to be in my most relaxed outfit. As always! Top, skirt, flats, and a dramatic cardigan to cap off my monochromatic outfit. What do you think?

Lipstick obsession

Still lusting over Mac viva glam Nicki and it has been for months now! I can’t figure out where exactly is the Mac branch that still sells the limited edition lippie.

While I was continuously leafing through the internet for countless reviews for this lippie, I stumbled upon a beauty blog and was inspired to post my favorite lipsticks. Without a doubt, I have a huge fascination for lipsticks and it was only recently that I became obsessed with them. Outfit shots won’t be complete without lipsticks, yes? I use them even if I only go to school and in clinical duties, believing that I feel inadequate and really pale without wearing one! I always prefer matte lipsticks among others. I heard it is well-suited for people with oily skin.

From L to R:

Mac Rebel, Lady Danger, Ruby Woo, Dubonnet, Nyx Indie Flick, Angel, Sweet Pink, Shocking Pink, Revlon Stormy Pink, Siren and Smoky Rose.

When I started rinsing the lipsticks on my left arm, I noticed how Mac and Revlon were the last ones to be removed. Although Nyx was easily wiped off, I have nothing against them because Nyx has the fullest coverage among the three brands and one swipe to the lips is totally enough. What I love about Mac is its Vanilla-like yummy scent and that it lasts in your lips for a few good hours. Mac Rebel and Ruby Woo are my go-to shades in events or hangouts. Revlon is the brand I really overuse. Stormy Pink is my daily lipstick shade whenever I go to school because it’s light and not the kind of lippie that is flashy and attention-grabbing.

Apparently, I have a penchant for pink and red orange lippies! I’m planning to purchase more plum shades next time.

This is long overdue but I’m posting it anyway!

I think if there’s one accessory that should be kept in one’s closet is the black floppy hat. I looove how it’s effortlessly classy and purposeful! Not only does it add a statement in an outfit but it is so functional (e.g. shields you from the scorching heat of the sun). It’s so wearable and no, you cannot only don a floppy hat at the beach but also for parties, a brief walk in the street, mall or park, or a trip in nature.

I’ve mentioned before how I always dress comfortably (always in a top and shorts combo) whenever I am in the province because it’s the most convenient thing for me to do. Top and shorts combo can sometimes be a boring combination but not when you inject statement or unique items to it. Take my black mullet button down top or my black floppy hat for example. Anyway, I hope I’m making sense here. Lol.

Lastly, I bid goodbye to the mullet trend few months ago and promised myself never to purchase anything mullet again since it’s way too overrated already but this black mullet top from Clothepedia is just irresistible!

Wild one

Few weeks ago, I went to witness the opening of the Philippine Fashion Week s/s 2013 along with Tovy, Fhia, Melo, Kate and her mom, Carl and her aunt who happens to be a designer. This whole Fashion week plan was really unanticipated, I have only known it the night before that we were going. Of course I was already panicking the moment I learned about it and said to myself “What to wear?! What to wear?! I’m dead!”

Because I had classes til 3 PM on the day itself and had no time to shop for clothes anymore, I just utilized what I have in my closet. This leopard-printed cover up has been constantly appearing in my blog, right? I always thought I’d be having a hard time in pairing it but I was so wrong. I just love its versatility despite it being printed! Anyway, I experimented and combined two leopard prints yet again. I hope it worked well!

Photodiary: Day 2

In contrast to our Day 1 which mostly situated in the South, we traveled around the North on our Day 2. I made lists that day on which places to visit. But then again I just had to eliminate Burgos Light House from the list because we only had limited amount of time since one of my friends Boidi had a scheduled trip at 10 PM of that same day.

Ahhhh, look at how the sky meets the sea and the sea meets the ground! So this is the incredibly awesome view that greeted us as we arrived.

First stop was in Kapurpurawan Rock Formation located in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. If you’re wondering what is Kapurpurawan, it means “whiteness”. It was named so because well, look at how white and pure the rock formation is. Wait, does it look familiar to you? This is where they shoot for one of the scenes in Mario Maurer and Erich Gonzales’ new movie, Suddenly It’s Magic.

Like what I’ve said before, you have to walk for approximately 1 kilometer in order to reach the main rock formation. The place is really rocky so it is recommended to wear comfy rubber shoes or any closed shoes. Although the three of us just wore slippers/sandals if you’ve noticed. Mehehe

I swear it’s so nice to take outfit photos here! I seriously want to have my outfit photos taken here everyday! Haha

Next stop was in Bangui Windmills. There are already 20 windmills to date. These gigantic windmills serves as a main source of electricity in Ilocos Norte.

And now our destination, Pagudpud! Pagudpud beaches are well-known for its powder-white sand.

We went swimming but only for a short while because waves were starting to get wild in the later afternoon.

Photodiary: Day 1

On my extremely short 10-day semestral break, I dragged two of my friends Fhia and Boidi, to have a mini vacation in the province to take a break from the hustle and bustle of Manila life. In all honesty, living in the metro sometimes can be a bit strenuous, not mentioning dangerous. Most often but not always. On our first day which was October 29, we took a short trip down history lane and explored the vintage streets of Vigan City as well as the iconic Paoay church and lake.

Calle Crisologo is full of vintage houses which was built during the Spanish era. I believe that in Vigan City, this is their most famous tourist spot. It automatically deviates you to the prehistoric times.

This city is apparently rich with antique items.

Cobblestone streets! What’s not to love?

Souvenir items are very abundant in Calle Crisologo.

Next destination was in Baluarte. It is a zoo which contained private collection of animals by Chavit Singson. It consists of tigers, peacocks, butterflies, camels, ostriches, deer and snakes to name a few.

3rd stop was in Paoay Church or St. Augustine Church. This beautiful church right here is a part of UNESCO World Heritage List. This is probably the most spectacular church I have ever seen yet. Boidi shares the same sentiment about it and plans to get married here someday. Lol.

Finally as we were about to go home and since Paoay Lake is just along the way, we decided to drop by and have some quick photos taken. Have you heard of the Paoay Lake’s Legend? It’s very popular in the locals of Ilocos Norte.

Okay from that day forth, these two are officially my travel buddies! I love them both to bits and pieces!

Rock formation

Talking about beaches, an ideal outfit for me would be long and flowy dresses or skirts. So when my friends and I were en route to the well-known beautiful places in the North, I instantly had an outfit reserved in my mind. Here’s what I wore on our second day together.

This beautiful scenery at my back is called the Kapurpurawan Rock Formation, located in Burgos, Ilocos Norte. It’s 1 hour away from where I live. The moment we arrived, Fhia, Boidi and I grabbed all of the chance to take loads of outfit shots and didn’t really mind the insane heat. I think we stayed there for at least 45 minutes solely for taking photos! It was really scorching hot and it was exactly 12 noon so please excuse my left hand covering my face all the time.

Hello, I miss it here! I kind of detached myself from the cyberworld for a few days because I was too busy having fun and focusing on the outside world. Lol, what an excuse but it’s true! Anyway, the past few days of my life were amazing. Last October 29 and 30, I toured my two friends around our province, Ilocos. Yup I’ll be going into details on my next posts. Meanwhile, outfit photos first! Heehee

Normally when I am in the province, I dress myself down because I get a lot of weird and awkward stares everywhere even if I’m only wearing a simple shorts + top combination (Don’t get me wrong, I’m not full of myself okay?) but this is what happens every time and I hate it. It’s like people around me restrain me from dressing up. Haha. So when my friends came over here for a 2-day vacation, I wanted to dress up because first, I have already planned that I will be wearing my new neon green skirt from Clothepedia on our first day together, second, I will be with 2 other people who are also fabulous so by the time I get weird stares, it would be divided. Lol and lastly, we’d be using our car so it won’t be stressful for me even if I’m wearing a short skirt.
